Dovetails, How do they work? How do they fit together like that, and how can you make them perfect just by hand? The dovetail joint has become the most iconic in the western woodworking tradition.
This workshop aims to teach participants the layout-out, practise, cutting and seating of perfect hand-cut dovetails. We will cover not only how to cut them, but how to approach the proper spacing and angles (‘‘rakes’’) best suited to given scenarios. The course will be beneficial to both total first-timers as well as more established enthusiasts trying to get to grips with this famous joint!
We will give you advice and tips on how best to care for your furniture, restoring, waxing, and painting. Each session lasts approximately 3 hours (10:30 – 1:30) and costs £35 per person, sessions are limited to 7 people as we want to give everybody individual support and advice.
