Interior Design Course Beginners

Do you have an interest for interiors? A passion for reuse and upcycling? Join our brand new interior design course at The Wood Pile. 6 weeks of hands on making, creating and developing your design skills. You will learn about how to professionally use colour schemes, create floor plans, make mood boards and even get your designs into a real life, live project.

 

Week Topic    
1 Introduction to interior design and colour theory. How colour can be used for many practical reasons within a space.

 

  

 

  

 

 

 

 

 
2 Introduction to Space planning. Measuring a space and the techniques used to create good flow and function.    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
3 Concepts and ideas. Talk about where to find inspiration, e. g different eras of design, the function of the space and also what humans find attractive/appealing in a space.  

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
4 Focusing our ideas and working with a client. This week will be about working as a group to develop one final idea and create a plan on how to make it happen    
5 Room renovation day    
6 Room renovation and how to finish a space. Talk about accessorising/dressing a space

Terms & Conditions 

Payment terms
Our standard payment terms is that payment is taken at booking unless otherwise stated. If payment by invoice has been previously agreed, the payment, once payment has been taken this secures your place and the booking fee is non-refundable. 

Course bookings
Bookings may be made by email, website, visiting us or calling us directly FB and other online event pages.

Transfers
Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer to another workshop with us, then we must do this no later than 2 weeks before the workshop starts All transfers must be taken within a period of six months from the original course date.

Cancellations

Should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your course and are unable to transfer your booking to another date at the time of cancellation then unfortunately you will lose your booking fee as costs are non-refundable once booking has been confirmed. 

Non-attendance

If you do not attend a course, and you have not previously informed us, the full course fee remains is non-refundable.
