What We’ve Done 

 

 

Figures of Achievement since commencement

“In the UK every year FIVE HUNDRED MILLION TONNES of waste wood is generated, year on year there’s a rise on how much is recycled.”

Since we commenced in 2014 we have collected:

401 tonnes of waste wood and upcycled

2.016 pieces of furniture

A total of 548 people including beneficiaries, volunteers, disabled and disadvantaged from the community have been supported

 

 

2014-2015

118 people from the community were supported

45 beneficiaries received intensive support, including induction, health and safety, manual handling, personal safety

11 beneficiaries progressed into employment

256 tonnes of wood waste diverted from landfill

687 pieces of furniture was restored and sold

46 people attended a furniture restoration course

36 people completed a work experience placement

25 people were supported with job search activity

19 attended team building sessions

10 college students with a learning disabilities completed a joinery and painting course

8 completed machinery training

2 completed an NVQ

16 clients with a learning disability attended in house woodwork/craft sessions.

 

2015-2016

185 people from the community, of which beneficiaries/volunteers either disabled/disadvantaged, achieved the following;

39 beneficiaries received intensive support

24 people completed induction inc; personal safety, manual handling and safe guarding awareness

9 people have progressed into employment

36 completed a work experience placement

24 were supported with Job Search Activity, all beneficiaries were offered support from the Carers Advisory Service

24 completed a work experience placement

99 people from the community attended our Shabby Chic upcycling furniture courses

28 primary school children attended a joinery course

6 veterans attended a joinery and painting course

753 pieces of furniture were restored/recycled.

98 tonnes of wood waste diverted from landfill

 

 

 

2016-2017

245 people from the community, of which beneficiaries/volunteers either disabled/disadvantaged, achieved the following;

36 beneficiaries received intensive support

24 people completed induction inc; personal safety, manual handling and safe guarding awareness

10 people have progressed into employment

24 completed a work experience placement

24 were supported with Job Search Activity, all beneficiaries were offered support from the Carers Advisory Service

73 people from the community attended our Shabby Chic upcycling furniture courses

6 gold leafing courses

8 Students from North Durham Academy attended a furniture upycycle course.
